Access to the cemeteries in the capital city on the Sunday of the Dead on April 26-27 will be restricted. This will be coordinated with the Funeral Services Combine and will be allowed only to persons who take part in funerals, in groups of at most ten people, IPN reports.
According to the Chisinau City Hall, the measure was imposed by the Municipal Commission for Exceptional Situations and is aimed at preventing the massive contamination with COVID-19.
The municipal authorities also asked that representatives of the police should guard the cemeteries.
The access to cemeteries in the suburban localities of the municipality of Chisinau is also restricted on April 19-27.
By the April 9 decision of the Synod of the Moldovan Orthodox Church, the celebration of the Sunday of the Dead was transferred from April 26-27 to June 6, 7 and 8.
