Mihail Barbulat, who is the next substitute candidate on the list of MPs of the Communist Party, has told IPN he will accept to become a member of the Communist parliamentary group. The seat in Parliament became vacant after Zinaida Chistruga died in the middle of September.
Mihail Barbulat, 42, heads the European Integration and International Cooperation Division of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.
In 2001-2005, Mihail Barbulat headed the Protocol Service of the Moldovan President’s Staff. In 2005, he became Moldova’s Ambassador to Turkey. In 2009, he was named Minister of Culture and Tourism in the Grecheanyi 2 Government.
Mihail Barbulat is proficient in English and Russian. He is married and has two children.
