About Moldovans’ defeat in Munich, struggle against (in)justice and pleadings of candidates for MP in Hâncești

IPN flow synopsis for February 17, 2020

Cry, children, after success story

In connection with the recent Munich Security Conference, political researcher Dionis Cenușa says cancelling European conserns about the critical situation of Russian democracy and its effects on regional and international security architecture weakens the political standards attached to the Europeanization of Moldova and other Eastern Partnership countries. First, the relationship with the EU would consist of a request for external financing in exchange for a very technical approach to any reform.

He will not answer for everything

Unlike the Moldovan authorities that want the country to be reunified by dialogue with the separatists, the President of Ukraine said in Munich that the Ukrainian authorities are ready to engage in a dialogue with the civil population of the temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, not yet with representatives of the illegal armed groups People’s Republic of Luhansk and People’s Republic of Donetsk.

President Igor Dodon said he pleaded in Munich for the
continuation of the “small steps policy” and the implementation of the ”Berlin+” Protocol in the Transnistrian conflict settlement.

The Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) will ask the Supreme Court of Justice to transfer the case of the suspended chief of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office Viorel Morari to another court. Given the particularities of this case and its impact on society, the PGO requests that the case should be examined by a judge or by a panel of judged consisting of randomly chosen judges and should be transferred to another court.

Residents of Hâncești, go all to the polls!

IPN hosted a round of debates of the series “Developing political culture through public debates” that is supported by the German foundation “Hanns Seidel”. This involved the candidates for MP in constituency No. 38 Hâncești of the PDM, PAS and the Shor Party.

Freeing of domestic policy

The members of the parliamentary groups of the PAS, PPPDA and PDM are working on a statement concerning the irreversibility of the strategic European integration course of the Republic of Moldova. Mihai Popşoi noted the Socialist MPs are rather concerned about this statement as their agenda is not aimed at strengthening the European integration course
