IPN flow synopsis for December 27, 2019

“Super-comfort” now in even most distant places

The fares on interurban route will be 0.6 lei per kilometer as of January 1, 2020. On super-comfort routes, the fares will be raised to 0.7 lei per km. Also, an instruction concerning the classification of buses and minibuses according to comfort categories will be approved. The units of transport that will not meet the mandatory criteria will not be allowed to run on routes.

Do Socialists want airport back?

The MP of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” Alexandru Slusari said they have started to collect signatures in favor of calling an extraordinary sitting of Parliament that will center on the Chisinau International Airport. A number of 34 signatures are needed for the purpose and 26 signatures were already collected. The Prime Minister, head of the Information and Society Service, chief of the National Anticorruption Center, prosecutor general and minister of justice will be invited to present reports in the extraordinary meeting.

Prosecutors would say that someone is on the winning side

A number of taxes applied in the municipality of Chisinau will be higher in 2020. This applies to units celling cigarettes, eateries, casinos, online shops, billboard advertisements, etc. At the same time, the payment of VAT by international companies that provide electronic services for private individuals, such as Facebook, Google and other nonresidents that use different applications on Moldova’s territory, was postponed until April. In fact, Parliament suggested that the implementation of the measure should be put off for a year. We considered it is enough to postpone it until April 1 next year,” said Dorel Noroc, secretary of state at the Ministry of Finance.

Easy to understand and not only

“Two parties want snap elections – the Shor Party and the PAS. The party of Andrei Năstase does not want snap elections as it will most probably not enter Parliament. The PDM should not want snap elections. The PSRM is ready for snap elections, but why should such elections be held when there is a Government that cooperates with the President?” wondered President Igor Dodon.

What Moldovans have missed since 1812

The Cabinet approved the signing of an agreement on the mutual institution of cultural centers with the Government of Turkey. Moldova and Turkey intend to step up the cooperation relations in culture given the presence of the Gagauz community in Moldova.
