About 700 war veterans monthly receive pensions and state allowances

A number of 695 veterans of World War II, 151 of whom are invalids, monthly receive pensions and state allowances, according to the National House of Social Insurance. The allowance is set depending on the category of which the beneficiary forms part, IPN reports.

Twelve first-degree invalids have a monthly allowance of 1,250 lei, 108 second-degree invalids get 850 lei a month, while 31 third-degree invalids are paid by 700 lei.

Over 270 participants in World War II receive a monthly state allowance of 707 lei. Monthly allowances of 700 lei are paid to persons who worked as civil employees in the army during World War II. The same sum is provided to persons who were held in Nazi camps and ghettoes and other forced detention places and to those who had been in Leningrad (St. Petersburg) during the Siege of September 8, 1941- January 27, 1944.

Another over 140 persons who were awarded orders and medals for assiduous work and irreproachable military service behind the front monthly receive by 175 lei from the state. More than 420 participants who were awarded the “Patriotic War” order of the first and second classes get a nominal allowance for special merits to the state in the amount of 100 lei a month.
