About 670,000 high-performance medical services procured by CNAM for 2025

The medially insured persons this year will have access to about 670,000 high-performance medical services to the value of over 423 million lei. Such services will be provided by 75 public and private providers, IPN reports, with reference to the National Health Insurance Company (CNAM).

"We continue to place a lot of emphasis on the oncologic patient, as in 2024. The patient does not have to wait in line. They are immediately served through diagnostic services, such as computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, when needed," CNAM director Ion Dodon said at a press conference. He noted that more services of this kind were procured for 2025 in order to facilitate the access of oncologic patients to such examinations.

Ion Dodon called on both the medical community and patients to show responsibility when a medical service is prescribed. The patient who made an appointment for an examination and is unable to show up should inform the medical institution. Thus, the place will be freed up for other patients who need checkups and no one will be forced to wait for an excessively long period.

This year, the number of surgeries performed under special programs, such as heart, cataract and musculoskeletal system reconstructive surgeries, will also be higher.

Over 145 million lei was planned for more than 12,600 cataract surgeries, up over 2,100 surgeries compared to last year. More than 460 million lei was earmarked for almost 6,700 musculoskeletal system reconstructive surgeries, by about 700 more cases than in 2024.
