The Prut water left 291 families in Nemteni and Cotul Morii villages of Hancesti district and in Macaresti, Ungheni, without homes. Spokeswoman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Situation Dorina Cruc has told Info-Prim Neo hundreds of persons were evacuated after the protection barrage in Nemteni burst on July 6 in the evening. The intervention teams so far managed to fortify the barrage, which is 40 centimeters in height, on a length of 250 meters. Fifty-six homes have been inundated in Cotul Morii. 1,180 villagers have been evacuated from 760 houses. A barrage that will be 120 meters long and 50 centimeters high is being built in Obileni village, Hancesti. Rescuers with two motorboats are evacuating the belongings of the villagers. The danger of floods persists in Ungheni town, where the barrage is made of earth. The Prut water level in Cotul Morii and Poganesti decreased by 2 centimeters, in Leova remained at the same level, while in Cantemir rose by 6 centimeters. In the villages of Cahul district located in the Prut meadow, the level of water increased by 2 centimeters. The hail in Tomai and Cupcini villages, Leova, and in Leova town damaged dozens of hectares of crop fields. The situation on the Nistru River is stable.
