A term soldier of the National Army died suddenly today. According to the information provided by the Operational Command Center, the serviceman lost consciousness in the barracks during a break, IPN reports.

The Defense Ministry says the unit's doctor gave him first medical aid and called the ambulance. When they arrived on the scene, the young man died suddenly.

A special commission of the National Army is conducting an on-duty investigation into the circumstances of the case. The causes of death are still to be established by forensic examiners.

At the same time, the Ministry of Defense has informed the competent bodies and forwarded all materials related to the case.

The soldier was inducted into military service in the summer of 2024.

"The Defense Ministry expresses its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased soldier and will provide all necessary support to elucidate this regrettable case", a press release said.
