Several organizations of the Coalition for Unity and Welfare (CUB) based in the municipality of Chisinau have announced their decision to withdraw from the party. Their leaders in a statement said the main reasons include the mimicked opposition, disconnection from citizens’ needs, nonobservance of the democratic processes inside the party and use of the party for personal goals, IPN reports.
“We talked to and persuaded many people to join in as we were sure that Moldova needs a new pro-European political force. We hoped that this party will represent a serious opposition that will put the brakes on the deviations of the PAS government and will defend the citizens from abuses and poverty. In reality, we became political characters in an ordinary theater, a kind of standby to the PAS government with which to pretend together that Moldova has pro-European opposition (too),” runs the statement.
The heads of the CUB local organizations noted that the candidate for mayor of Chisinau was chosen without discussing with the municipal Chisinau Organization first and this fact was the turning point in the taken decision.
The members and leaders who signed the statement remain faithful to the European integration and values, the fight against corruption and will decide in the near future in what political format to continue to safeguard citizens’ interests.
The statement was signed by the leaders of the CUB organizations in Râșcani district of Chisinau, the primary organization in Trușeni and the primary organization in Bubuieci.
