A resilient Europe should be a collective success, MEP

The European Parliament’s delegation that is in Chisinau on a visit expressed its readiness to help implement a European agenda and combat the security threats in the region. “An enlarged Europe should be a more resilient Europe. This should be a collective success,” the delegation’s head Nathalie Loiseau stated in a meeting with Prime Minister Dorin Recean, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, the members of the European Parliament expressed their gratitude for the efficient management of the refugee crisis and the measures taken by the authorities to ensure peace and stability in the region.

Premier Recean approved of the European Parliament’s support in the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova, the recent approval of €145 million in additional financial assistance for Moldova. He noted that the Government is fully committed to implementing the nine recommendations put forward by the European Commission and to re-launching the national economy that has been seriously affected by the consequences of Russia’s war against Ukraine.

The officials also referred to the measures to strengthen regional security, noting that the institution of the EU Partnership Mission in the Republic of Moldova (EUPM) under the Common Security and Defense Policy is an important step in this regard. They also approved of the work done by the EU Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine, which monitors the Moldovan-Ukrainian border and ensure safe traffic.
