The initiation group of the social political organization “European Action Movement” (MAE) will summon the constitution convention of MAE, which is scheduled for Sunday, October 22 in Chisinau. The leader of the initiatiation group, Anatol Petrencu declared, on Wednesday, October 18, as part of a press-conference that, till now, territorial organizations were created in 25 raions of the republic, and 6,000 requests being registered. According to Petrencu, the group was initiated in the autumn of 2005, being motivated by the state of affairs Moldova was experiencing after the 2005 elections, when formations, which declared themselves as opposition, voted, on April 4 in favor of the government party, a fact that determined the change of the political situation in the R. of Moldova. According to the same source, starting with the fact that except launching declarations nothing is effectively done in what concerns integration to the European Union, the basic idea of the “European Action” Movement is that of recognizing the R. of Moldova as a sovereign, independent state, which place is in Europe and which is able to develop only in cooperation with other European nations. Although it doesn’t have a well-established doctrine, the formation is considered to be a right-centrist one, with similar positions to the European People’s Party.
