Municipal councillor Alexandru Corduneanu, leader of the faction Christian Democratic People’s Party of Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), proposed reconstruction and modernising of capital undergrounds. Corduneanu said on Tuesday, 28 March, during the meeting of the juridical commission for public order and public administration activity that municipal architecture and urbanism department should draft and then present to CMC a concept regarding the undergrounds. He noted this while the commission was discussing the rent of a capital underground, which a businessman wants to invest 15 million lei. Even in these conditions, Corduneanu noted that the situation of the underground would not change very much, and the result wou8ld be minimum without a clear vision. He proposed to organise auctions for reconstruction and modernising works of undergrounds, saying the undergrounds have to look like those in developed countries. There are 9 undergrounds in Chisinau, 3 of them are located on the central street situate of the capital.
