A mother with two children, a 1-month-old and a 2-year-old, fell into a well in Rotunda village, Edinet district. The 2-year-old was rescued by some locals and the firefighters at the scene, but the mother and the other baby could not be saved, IPN reports.

According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, the incident occurred on Monday evening, August 26. Arriving at the scene, rescuers established that the woman with her two children had fallen into the well at a depth of about 15 meters. Only the 2-year-old child suffering from hypothermia was rescued and later transported to the hospital.

At the same time, the 1-month-old baby's body was also recovered from the well. Firefighters pumped out the water to recover the lifeless body of the 25-year-old woman.

The circumstances and cause of the incident shall be determined by law enforcement bodies.
