The Ministry of Justice handed over licenses to 99 lawyers who took the qualification exam, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Ministry of Justice. In the handover ceremony, Deputy Minister of Justice Gheorghe Susarenco said a powerful body of lawyers will offer the judges fewer chances of passing illegal decisions and violating the law. The deputy minister congratulated the young lawyers, saying they are those who will work actively according to the new amendments aimed at improving the lawyer’s work, which were passed by the Parliament. Gheorghe Susarenco also said that the changes adopted by the legislative body will strengthen the lawyer’s role in society and improve the quality of justice. A number of 302 licenses have been handed over to lawyers this year. This is by 150 licenses than last year. About 1,600 lawyers work in Moldova at present.
