80 polling places to be set up abroad for September 5 referendum
Forty-five polling places will be opened in 27 countries besides the 35 that will be set up at Moldova’s embassies and consular offices abroad for the September 5 constitutional referendum, under a decision taken Friday by the Central Election Commission, Info-Prim Neo reports.
CEC secretary Iurie Ciocan said the number of polling places abroad will be increased with the aim of optimizing and stimulating the electoral processes.
The Chisinau district electoral council No. 1 and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration will be entrusted with the task of opening the polling places and constituting the electoral offices abroad.
The polling places will be set up 35 days before the referendum day, while the electoral offices will be constituted 25 days before the referendum day.
