80% of the Moldovans haven’t been to the theater during the past 12 months. Only 2% of the Moldovan people go to the theater once a month on average and there is no one who would go to the theater weekly, shows the latest Public Opinion Barometer, quoted by IPN.

The poll shows the situation as regards going to the movies is much the same. 81% of those surveyed haven’t been to the movies over the past 12 months, while 8% went two or three times over the past year. As regards concerts, the situation is slightly better. 20% of those polled went to a concert two-three times in the period, while 1% went to concerts once a week on average.

The visits to the library are almost as often as those to then museum. 76-79% of the respondents said they haven’t been to the library or the museum in the period and only 4% of those surveyed said they go to the library weekly.

Asked how often they visited cultural places in Moldova, 48% of those polled said they haven’t been to places of culture in the country during the past 12 months, while 26% went two-three times a year. 54% of the respondents haven’t taken part in community cultural events in the period.
