A man aged 79 from Orhei died last night because of the COVID-19 infection. The Ministry of Heath, Labor and Social Protection said the patient was transferred to the National Clinical Hospital in a serious state on April 8, IPN reports.
As many as 28 deaths associated with the novel coronavirus, four of which in the Transnistrian region, have been recorded in Moldova so far. The youngest victim was 27 and was from the Transnistrian region. The casualties include three doctors.
A state of emergency was declared in Moldova for 60 days on March 17. The detected infections with COVID-19 total 1,174 at present. The Ministry of Health said 43 patients were cured.
