76% of Moldovans consider elections not to be free and fair: poll

Most of Moldovans (76%) consider the elections not be free and fair, as only 24% think they are – a percentage 18 points below the world average (42%) and 5 points under the regional average (29%), Info-Prim Neo has learnt from a poll presented on December 24 by the Sociological Investigations and Marketing Center CBS AXA. In the ranking of the countries with the most positive perceptions, Moldova is on the 50th place of 55 and on the 11th place within those 14 countries from Central and Eastern Europe. Most of Moldovans (84%) think their countries is not governed as the people want. In this respect, Moldova ranks the 47th within those 55 countries investigated by the research. According to the same poll, six in ten Moldovans consider view the things in the country going the wrong direction. The most concerned are the people living in the capital, Chisinau, as 65% of them share this opinion.
