€700,000 in compensation for vulnerable households and ukrainian refugees

Vulnerable households in the Republic of Moldova, including Ukrainian refugees under temporary protection, will receive a total of €700,000 in financial compensation to mitigate the impact of the energy crisis. The support will be provided through a program running from January to March, funded by the European Union, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the measure aims to assist vulnerable groups during the cold season by partially covering the increased cost of living caused by the energy crisis, using funds allocated by People in Need and the European Union.

The total budget of the support program amounts to €700,000, offered as targeted compensation to support beneficiary categories.

"This initiative highlights the commitment of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection and People in Need to support Moldova's most vulnerable groups, strengthening social protection and solidarity in the face of the energy crisis," stated a press release from the ministry.

The initiative is made possible thanks to contributions from People in Need funds, SOS Ukraine resources – donations from the Czech people – and European Union funding.
