About 70% of the passengers who use the urban passenger transport from Chisinau prefer to travel by minibuses. According to the opinion poll was effected by the Business Consulting Institute, the mentioned-above category of passengers are followed by the persons which use trolleybuses (51%) and autobus passengers (about 14%). At the same time the poll explains the motivation of choosing a type of public transport or another. 71.9% of the persons use trolleybuses because it is the cheapest public transport, 4.8% because the trolleybus station is closer to the destination, 2.8 because they feel safer with trolleybuses and 0.2 because trolleybuses are less agglomerated. 22% of the passengers which to travel by bus, use this type of public transport because it is cheaper, 15.2 % because of the facilities they have. 36.1 of the minibuses’ passengers state that they prefer this type of public transport because it is closer to the destination or departure points, 37.5% - because it is faster, and 21.3% because of the comfort. According to the opinion poll, monthly minibuses transport about 18 million passengers, trolleybuses – 15.9 million passengers, autobuses – 3.35 million passengers. The 902 respondents participated in the opinion poll, within the project “Improving the management of public urban transport in Chisinau municipality.
