A man aged 24 living in Roscani village of Straseni district is suspected of raping and killing a 65-year-old woman from the same village. When being interrogated by the police, the man admitted that in the evening of April 11, being inebriated, he had a quarrel with the woman whom he hit in the head and raped and then hid the body in the yard of a deserted home, IPN has learned from the General Police Inspectorate.

When he was arrested, the young man had an illegally held hunter’s gun and several bullets on him.

Intentional murder and rape carry a penalty of 15 to 20 years behind bars or life imprisonment.
