491,000 lei to organize elections in Chisinau
Holding the April 5 elections in Chisinau will cost 491.705 lei, as the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) adopted a decision in this respect on February 17. The amount is 29,000 lei less than the one approved earlier by the Reserve Fund Commission of Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Finance direction chief Maria Caraus says the money will be taken from extra-revenues to the budget and not from the Reserve Fund. A majority of 42 councilors voted for the decision.
The largest amount has been allocated to the Botanica district office – 127,730 lei, and the smallest – to the Buiucani district – 82,475 lei. The Centru sector will use 84,250 lei, the Rascani and Ciocana districts -- 107,9 lei and 89,350 lei, respectively.
The money will be used to install polling stations, posters for electoral ads, ballot boxes, etc.
The CMC sitting is chaired by Pavel Caba, the leader of the Moldova Noastra Alliance faction, and was running when this story was aired. After dismissing Eduard Musuc on February 13 from the position of the CMC chair, the councilors agreed to preside over the sitting by rotation.
