45 children from camp in Leova raion hospitalized with food intoxications
45 children with food intoxications of the camp „Leova” of Leova raion were hospitalized, starting Saturday night until Monday morning, in the infection diseases hospitals of the capital, the head of the Municipal Preventive Medicine Center of Chisinau municipality, Iurie Panzaru, announced about this on the mayoralty’s Monday working meeting.
Panzaru mentioned that there were insufficient beds in the raion’s hospital in Leova to host all the children with food infections, and that is why a part of them were brought to Chisinau. The authorities have started an investigation in order to establish the origin of children’s mass intoxication, and a team of the National Scientific-Practical Center of Preventive Medicine left for Leova with this purpose.
In the context, the head of the Municipal Preventive Medicine Center was concerned about the possibility of such cases as well in the camps „Crestinul” of Vadul Lui Voda, which works for many years without medical-sanitary authorization, requiring to local authorities to undertake the necessary measures to prevent this risk situation.
According to Panzaru, last week there were registered two cases of mass food infections. The first case of intoxication happened at the „Venetia” Cafe, where 27 persons, including 3 children were intoxicated. After liquidating the focus, the location’s owner will be obliged to pay fines to public medical-sanitary institutions and the Municipal Preventive Medicine Center, he noted.
Another case of food intoxication took place at the Vocational School of Bubuieci village, where a private party was organized. Panzaru mentioned that, as result, it will be forbidden for education institution to host private events.
