The European Union offers €4 million for implementing joint Moldovan-Ukrainian projects in the socioeconomic sphere. Alexei Sekarev, team leader within the Eastern Partnership Territorial Cooperation Support Program, told the journalists that the financing is intended for the whole territory of Moldova and Transnistrians can also submit projects, IPN reports.
In order to be able to use the funds designed for the projects, the Moldovan and Ukrainian partners must work out common proposals and file an application. Financing for a project is at most €250,000.
Ukrainian Ambassador in Chisinau Serhii Pyrozhkov in a regional conference said that regardless of the geopolitical choice of Ukraine, the Moldovan – Ukrainian cooperation will go on.
The Eastern Partnership Territorial Cooperation Support Program promotes sustainable cross-border cooperation between border regions of the EaP countries – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova - by building the capacities of local and regional authorities to effectively manage future cross-border programs in the region. The EU allocated €12.5 million for this program.
