29 candidates could contend for mayoralty of Chisinau

A number of 29 candidates could run in the mayoral election in Chisinau on November 5 as seven more aspirants presented the required documents to the Chisinau District Electoral Council.

Contacted by IPN for details, the head of the Chisinau District Electoral Council Viorica Gadîmba said that the seven aspirants include Tatiana Gorea, who intends to run as an independent. She filed the necessary documents together with the subscription lists with signatures in her support.

As more than one person filed applications on the last day of submissions, a draw was held to decide the aspirants’ place on the ballot. This way, Tatiana Gorea will be under No. 23 on the ballot if she is registered.

Ruslan Popa, of the New Historic Option Party will be under No. 24, Ștefan Urîtu of the People’s Will Party – under No. 25, Andrei Munteanu of the Political Party “NOI” – under No. 26, Arina Spătaru of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe – under No. 27, Ștefan Gligor of the Party of Change – under No. 28, while Tatiana Platon of the Alternative and Moldova Salvation Force – under No. 29.

The 19 registered candidates for mayor of Chisinau are:

2. Ruslan Codreanu of the Electoral Bloc “Ruslan Codreanu”;
3. Constantin Butucel of the Party “We Build Europe at Home”;
4. Ion Ștefăniță of the “Respect Moldova” Movement;
5. Diana Caraman of the Party of Communists;
6. Lilian Carp of the Party of Action and Solidarity;
7. Anatol Usatyi of the Party of Development and Consolidation of Moldova;
8. Vadim Brînzaniuc of the European Social Democrat Party;
9. Ion Bulgac of the Coalition for Unity and Wellbeing;
10. Adrian Albu of the Party of Socialists;
11. Mihail Poleanschi of the Civic Congress;
12. Victor Chironda of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”;
13.
Oleg Burlacu of the Liberal Democratic Party;
14. Vasile Bolea of the Revival Party;
15. Roman Mihăeș of the National Liberal Party;
16. Ion Ceban of the National Alternative Movement;
17. Dragoș Galbur of the National Moldovan Party;
18. Alla Popova of Moldova’s Patriots Party;
19. Anatolie Prohnitski of the Ecologist Green Party.

Besides the seven files submitted on the last day, the Council is also examining the files of Cristina Vulpe of the Chance Party (20), Andrei Donică of the Professionals’ Movement “Speranța-Nadejda” (21), and Ion Purice of the Liberal Party (22).
