28 drivers gave bribes to traffic police over a week

Traffic police inspectors denounced 28 drivers who gave them bribe to avoid responsibility, according to the police report for last week, IPN reports.

The report shows that, most often, the drivers gave bribes so as not to be punished for exceeding the speed limit, driving under the influence of alcohol, neglecting road markings, lacking motor technical inspection and insurance certificates.

The drivers are warned about the consequences of corruption. However, many ignore the legal provisions and continue to give money in order to avoid penalties following the committed violations.

Moreover, the police emphasize that giving bribes to a public official is a crime and, respectively, it entails criminal liability.
