A passenger of the Dublin – Chisinau flight attempted to illegally bring €57,000 into Moldova. They money was seized and can be confiscated, IPN reports.

According to the Customs Service, it happened in the morning of May 12. The man aged 26 said that he does not have what to declare. But the customs officers checked the man’s baggage and found the undeclared money.

The case will be investigated by the responsible division of the Customs Service. Moldova’s borders can be crossed without submitting a declaration to the customs authorities only with sums that do not exceed the equivalent of €10,000 per person. The undeclared sums above this ceiling can be confiscated by a court decision.
