The monthly state allowance for rehabilitated victims of political repressions from 1917-1990 is to be increased from 1000 to 1250 lei, IPN reports.

The draft decision to this effect is included on the agenda of the government meeting on Wednesday, March 12.

According to the information provided by the National Social Insurance House, 6,073 people from among the rehabilitated victims of political repression from 1917-1990 receive a monthly allowance of 1,000 lei.

Most of the beneficiaries, about 1670 people, are from Chisinau municipality.

The increases will be allocated retroactively, with application from January 1.
