A number of 250 concrete garbage bins with the capacity of 50 liters have been bought and installed in all the districts of the municipality of Chisinau at the end of last year and so far this year, IPN reports.

Nicolae Verlan, head of the Cleanup and Waste Management Section of the General Public Amenities Division, said that unlike the old garbage bins that had a volume of 30 liters, the new bins are larger and are emptied less frequently.

Most often, the garbage bins are emptied on Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Blvd, four times a day. On other arteries in Chisinau, the bins are emptied three or two times or even one time.

The new trash bins have lids and water does not get inside them when it rains.

The purchase cost 824 650 lei.

British-style trash bins with the capacity of 100 liters were set up on Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Blvd last yearend. These are made from resistant material, do not go rusty and do not need to be painted, stated Nicolae Verlan.
