22 members of the new Parliament will have to choose between their MP seat and positions incompatible with it. The deadline is 30 days after the validation of the election results by the Constitutional Court, that is January 8, IPN learned from Andrei Volentir, secretary of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC).
The Socialists have 6 MPs that are administrators or managers of businesses. PLDM has only one MP with an incompatible function – a district head. The Communists have 5 MPs that will have to make a choice – a district head, two mayors, a district deputy head and the editor-in-chief of a newspaper.
PDM has 3 incompatible MP – a mayor, a deputy Speaker of the People's Assembly of Gagauzia and a district president. The Liberals have the most MPs in this situation – 7. Besides the mayor of Chisinau, they have several division heads from the City Hall and business managers.
The list doesn't include the outgoing ministers whose term has expired and are acting as caretakers until a new government is appointed.
According to the Electoral Code, the MP that has a position incompatible with the parliamentary post has 30 days to resign from it.
