2007 State Budget expenses exceeded incomes by about 200 million lei
In 2007, overall incomes to the State Budget climbed to about 14 billion lei, which is 100.4% of the forecast amount and by 2.8 billion lei (26%) more than a year before, Finance Minister Mihai Pop told a Government meeting on Wednesday, Jan 16.
Of the total incomes, basic revenues constituted 12.3 billion lei, also 100.4% of the forecasts and a 2.7 billion lei (29%) increase on the previous year.
The average daily collection index stood at 49.2 million lei against 37.3 million lei in 2006.
State Budget expenditure exceeded 14.2 billion lei, which is 98.5% of the planned amount and by 3.1 billion lei (29%) more than in 2006.
645.2 million lei (the equivalent of 53.3 million USD) went to honour the government’s external debt, and 410.2 million lei the government’s internal debt.
The budgets of territorial-administrative units collected incomes totalling 5.6 billion lei, by 146 million lei (2.7%) more than projected. Compared with 2006’s index, incomes rose by 18.2%. Of the total incomes, own incomes of the budgets of territorial-administrative units constituted 2.8 billion lei, by 6% more than projected and by 17.3% more than in the previous year.
At the same time, the local budgets expended 5.6 billion lei, which is 94.4% of the planned amount. Compared with 2006, expenses rose by 547.8 million lei or 18.1%.
Initially, the 2007 State Budget Law provided for incomes of 12.08 billion lei and expenses of 12.16 billion lei. Throughout the year, the budget law was revised thrice.
