20 km of roads were repaired within regional development projects in 2013

Four road portions of 20 km have been repaired this year within regional development projects, Minister of Regional Development and Construction Marcel Raducan said, quoted by IPN.

There were repaired the following road portions: Lipcani – Corjeuti – Trinca (7.7 km), Codreni – Sagaidacul Nou (4.8 km), Alexandru cel Bun St in Nisporeni town (1.55 km), and the access road to “Alexei Mateevic” Museum in Zaim village of Causeni district, which is important for developing tourism in Moldova.

Within regional development projects, there were constructed a drinking water treatment station and a wastewater treatment station, 18 km of water pipes and 3 km of sewer pipes. There was finished the construction of two solid household waste dumps in Hancesti and Nisporeni towns. The construction of the Youth and Sport Center in Causeni town, which is 4,636 square meters in area, was also completed.

Twenty-six regional development projects were implemented in 2013. Almost 200 million lei was allocated to the national regional development fund for financing them from the state budget. Another 51 million lei for five of the 26 projects were provided by the Government of Germany through the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).

For 2013-2015, there were planned 62 regional projects to the value of 1.3 billion lei in such important areas as water supply and sewerage services, waste management, tourism, and energy efficiency. The GIZ will allocate additionally about €5 million for financing seven projects.
