2 policemen of “SCUT” regiment charged with serious felonies
Two policemen of “SCUT” sentry and patrol regiment of the General Police Office of the municipality of Chisinau are investigated, being accused of committing several felonies.
According to a press release of the General Prosecutor Office, those two are accused of committing grave felonies, for which they might be imprisoned for more than two years. The penal proceedings were instituted for violating the articles on power excess or exceeding work competences, premeditated hurting of corporal integrity and health that generated the death of the victim, altering public acts.
Taking into consideration these facts, the policemen were arrested for a term of 30 days. In due time the case will be possibly submitted for court examination, the press release says.
At the end of this week the Prosecutor Office announced that 2 policemen of MIA’s Organized Crime Fighting Department are suspected of beating a convict to death. The European Court for Human Rights condemned Moldova several days ago in the case of a convict of the Center for Fighting Economic Crime and Corruption who was beaten by the employees of the Center. The Government must pay 46 thousand euros.
Several national and international organizations for human rights protection attested abuse cases committed by law enforcement bodies of Moldova.
