A girl aged 18 perished in a car accident in Călărași. The car was driven by her inebriated brother who was speeding and lost control of the car. The vehicle skilled off the road and overturned.
Contacted by IPN for details, press officer of the Călărași Police Inspectorate Cristina Vicol said the 25-year-old driver was traveling on the M5 road, not far from Rădeni village, from the direction of Chisinau to Bălți. There were six passengers in the car, among whom were there 18-year-old girl and a teenage boy aged 17.
At a certain moment, the speeding driver lost control of the car. This left the road, overturned and ended up in a ditch.
The driver’s sister died on the way to the hospital. The driver and a passenger were also taken to the hospital by an ambulance, but these weren’t hospitalized. The others didn’t need medical care.
The breath test and blood sample showed the driver was heavily inebriated. He admitted his guilt and faces four to eight years in jail and ban on driving.
