Ten police officers and six civilians needed medical care following the use of violence during the protests mounted near the Parliament Building in the evening of January 20. Spokesman for the Chisinau Emergency Medicine Institute Petru Caravet has told IPN that none of the victims was seriously hurt.
The persons suffered medium-gravity and minor injuries in the head, chest and belly. The doctors offered them the necessary medical assistance. None of the victims was hospitalized.
The videos disseminated by the media show how Liberal MP Mihai Ghimpu was attacked and hit when he was leaving the Parliament Building. Petru Cravet said he does not know if the lawmaker needed medical care.
The Prosecutor General’s Office started a criminal case over public disorder during the January 20 protest.
