The Government approved the national employment action plan for 2014. Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga said the plan contains 56 measures. There will be staged 68 job fairs and about 1,500 unemployed persons will be involved in remunerated public works. More than 7,000 people out of work will receive unemployment benefit, IPN reports.

Under the plan, there will be financed about 300 investment projects that will generate 400 new jobs. The plan will be implemented at a cost of 340 million lei.

The unemployment rate in the last six months was 4.7%, as opposed to 4.5% in the corresponding period last year. About 8,400 unemployed persons found a job.
