15 Olympic scholarships for sportspersons

The National Olympic and Sports Committee completed the procedure for choosing athletes who will benefit from Olympic scholarships Tokyo 2020, IPN reports.

The Committee’s president Nicolae Juravski handed over certificates to the following sportspersons: Alexandra Emilianov, Sergei Marghiev, Andrian Mardare (athletics), Anastasia Nikita, Maxim Perpelita, Donior Islamov (wrestling), Oleg Tarnovski, Oleg Nuta (canoe), Vasili Belous, Dorin Bucsa (boxing), Denis Vieru, Dorin Gotonoaga (judo), Tatiana Salcutan (swimming), Stepan Dimitrov (taekwondo), and Dan Olaru (archery).

The scholarships worth US$535 each will be collected monthly during three years on condition that the athletes meet the Olympic requirements.

“With this money, the athletes will have access to appropriate training equipment and can cover the costs of medical assistance, insurance against accidents and accommodation costs. They will have to report on the spending as the money should be used only on training,” Nicolae Juravski told a news conference.
