As many as 12,600 cigarettes were discovered in the ceiling of a minibus, which was traveling to France. The batch was detected by the sniffer dog of the Costești customs post, Dona, IPN reports.
According to the police, when on the exit lane, the driver and passengers of the minibus said that they were only transporting personal belongings. But, during a detailed check of the minibus, the sniffer dog showed signs that something had been hidden in the passenger compartment.
A total of 630 packs of cigarettes of different brands were concealed under the ceiling upholstery to be transported illegally. The batch was confiscated and the 43-year-old driver faces a penalty.
