1,060 persons cured of COVID-19 donated convalescent plasma

As many as 1,060 persons who recovered from COVID-19 donated convalescent plasma during the past six months, ensuring 3,612 doses of plasma that were distributed to health facilities that treat patients with serious and very serious forms of COVID-19. In this connection, the Ministry of Health calls on those who were cured of COVID-19 to help the patients in a serious state by donating convalescent plasma that contains antibodies.

In a press release, the Ministry says that the convalescent plasma can be donated two weeks after the discharge from the hospital by male persons who recovered from COVID-19, aged between 18 and 60, who do not have such chronic diseases as diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases, liver and kidney diseases.

The persons can donate plasma at the National Blood Transfusion Center and at its subdivisions in Bălți, Cahul and Chisinau and also at other donation centers. They must present a copy of the extract issued by the family doctor or the hospital, which confirms that the treatment for COVID-19 was completed successfully.
