105 polling places to be opened abroad for November 30 elections

The Moldovans abroad will be able to cast their ballots at one of the 105 polling places that will be established abroad for the November 30 parliamentary elections, IPN reports, quoting a decision that is to be approved by the Government on October 20.

Twenty-five polling places will be set up in Italy, six in the U.S., three in the UK, one in Ireland, two in Israel, 11 in Romania, three in Canada, five in Portugal, 15 in Russia, four in France, four in Spain, two in Greece, two in Ukraine, two in Germany, two in the Czech Republic, and two in Turkey. By one polling place will be established in the People’s Republic of China, Belarus, Latvia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Poland, Sweden, Estonia, Lithuania, Hungary, Austria, Bulgaria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Qatar, and Monaco.

The location of the polling places was set based on a study made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration in cooperation with the Bureau for Diaspora Relations and taking into account the opinions of people working in the given counties.

The costs associated with the opening of the 105 polling places abroad will be covered with the money allocated from the state budget for organizing the parliamentary elections.
