100 treaties signed within CIS do not generate value added for citizens

The national authorities identified 100 treaties signed within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) which do not produce value added for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova. The legal procedures for denouncing 70 of these have been initiated so far. The denouncing procedures were completed for 29 treaties, IPN reports.

“All the denounced agreements do not generate benefits for the citizens and the involved institutions,” the Cabinet’s spokesman Daniel Vodă stated in a news conference.  He noted that the agreements are outdated and do not match the Republic of Moldova’s, the Cabinet’s priorities.

According to the State Register of Treaties, Moldova is a party to over 280 international treaties signed within the CIS.
