100% of votes counted: Maia Sandu wins with 57.75% of the poll

Update /10:44am/ The PAS candidate Maia Sandu obtained 57.75% of the vote in the presidential runoff of November 15, show the preliminary results after the counting of 100% of the votes. PSRM-backed independent candidate Igor Dodon won 42.25% of the ballot.

With 99.95% of the vote reports processed, Maia Sandu emerges victorious with 57.74% of the vote, while independent candidate Igor Dodon has 42.26% of the poll. The last report from Sacramento, the U.S. is being awaited, IPN reports.

In a news conference, CEC vice president Vladimir Șarban said the central electoral authority has five days to compile an election totaling report. Later, within three days of its signing, it will present a report on the presidential elections to the Constitutional Court.

Vladimir Șarban noted that 324 notifications about violations, incidents, etc. were received in the runoff. These refer to campaigning, road blocking, incidents with ballot papers and others. All the incidents reported by the about 2,400 national and international observers and the notifications on social networking sites will be examined as the people expressed their dissatisfaction with particular shortcomings.

According to the preliminary data, the voter turnout in the presidential runoff was over 52% or 1 650131 electors.
