Most of the housing sector managers of Chisinau obtained technical certificates for the apartment buildings to be supplied with heat. About 10% of these buildings are now heated. In contrast, the dwellers associations were issued with certificates for only 54% of the buildings, IPN reports.

In the ordinary meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, head of the Public Amenities Division Petru Gontea said the order to start the heating season all over the city hasn’t been signed and the housing sector can be supplied with heat now only if dwellers ask for this. The number of requests will increase this week as the temperatures are expected to decrease.

Veaceslav Ene, director general of the public utility SA “Termoelectrica”, said about 500 institutions and apartment buildings have been connected to the heat supply so far. The number of requests to be supplied with heat from the housing sector is on the rise.

SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” director general Veronica Herta said the company is ready to supply heat, but the number of applicants is yet low. She called on the consumers-private individuals to pay the debts to the supplier, which total 4 million lei.
