10 apartment blocks from Chisinau, will be technically checked in short time to establish weather they can be mansard-roofed or not, declared for Info-Prim Neo the deputy mayor of Chisinau, Veaceslav Iordan, after a meeting with the representatives of the company that implements the pilot-project for 4 apartment blocks of Trandafirilor Street. According to Iordan, those 10 blocks are located on Trandafirilor, Miron Costin, Independentei, Cuza Voda, Grenoble, Dacia, Valea Crucci, Traian streets. The quoted source mentioned that in case the expertise will confirm the possibility to add mansard roofs to these blocks, auctions will be announced in order to find the economic agents that will perform the works. According to the same source, no building from Stefan cel Mare Boulevard will not be mansard-roofed, because many edifices in this region are history monuments, and that means that for performing the mentioned-above works the Mayoralty will have to ask the permission of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. On the other hand, adding mansards to the edifices from the central part of Chisinau means repairing the foundations of the blocks, project that would require great expenses. Iordan also specified that Chisinau Municipal Council will have the responsibility to distribute the roofs for the building the mansards. At the same time the economic agents that will perform the construction works will be obliged to give to the Mayoralty 10% persons of the total mansards’ space, The deputy Mayor specified, that upon the request of the dwellers from Trandafirilor Street the economic agents that builds the mansards will also repair the front side of the houses and the stairs from the first to the last floor. According to the head of the General Communal Departement, Mihai Solcan, the specialists of the National Agency (NARD) for Regional Development warned about the possible risks of these works because of the frequent earthquakes in this region. NADR created a work group which includes also 3 representatives of the municipality, who will analyze the situation and will take a decision. According to a schedule elaborated previously, the works in the 4 blocks on Trandafirilor Street will be finished until the end of the year.
