A person of interest has been arrested and another one has been designated as an international fugitive in the Zubresti forest murder case, IPN learned from the General Police Inspectorate.

The fugitive is the son of Ion Stratulat, a former police officer murdered in 2011, and grandson of police general-turned-politician Nicolae Alexei.

The victim is a 29-year-old man who was found dead Wednesday night after his mother reported him missing the day before. His body was found buried in a forest near the village of Zubresti, Straseni. It is believed he died from three thoracic gunshot injuries.

The press reported that the victim and the presumed killer had participated together in a house party that lasted for several days. It was held at a Zubresti forest cabin owned by the Stratulat family. The 29-year-old, the son of an influential Rezina farmer, was reportedly among the last to stay at the party, alongside Ion Stratulat’s son and two young women. The victim was shot from his own gun.
