Zinaida Grecianai: We are an independent and sovereign state, the borders of our country must be recognized
“We suffer a lot because of the tensions appeared in the bilateral relations with Romania. It affects us,” premier Zinaida Grecianai told a news conference.
“To cancel the visa regime, first of all, our country's boarders must be recognized. It's absolutely necessary, because we're an independent and sovereign state, all the world recognizes it,” the prime-minister said.
Moldova imposed visas on Romanian citizens on April 9, after the authorities accused the neighboring state of organizing the mass revolts on April 7.
Both Moldovan and Romanian citizens are unhappy with the decision of the Chisinau government. They complain of red tape in securing visas and say that the business and personal contacts dropped after April 9.
