Zimbru Chisinau decided to leave the National Football Division as the financing provided earlier by Nicolae Chernyi was fully withdrawn. The announcement was made by the club’s director general Sevastian Botnari in a news conference, IPN reports.
“The withdrawal implies non-participation in all the divisions, superior and inferior leagues of the Moldovan football. So, the seniors’ team of the football club Zimbru will stop existing. We consider such a formula will help us a lot to remedy the club’s economic situation. Mister Chernyi fully withdrew the financing. He is ready to further invest in what the Football Academy means,” stated Sevastian Botnari.
According to him, such cases happened in uncertain periods earlier too. He called on all the supporters, businesspeople to take part in a roundtable meeting on March 6 to discuss eventual solutions so that the club could continue work.
Sevastian Botnari noted that the Football Academy will continue its activity. “We will try to correctly develop the educational process in football based on a well-defined strategy,” he said.
