Zimbru to host FC Vaslui friendly

FC Zimbru Chisinau will play on Sunday, Oct. 12, a friendly match with Romanian FC Vaslui, Info-Prim Neo reports. The game will take place on the Zimbru Arena starting at 15:00. According to the Chisinau-based club, although the the match has mostly a preparatory character, Zimbru will field their elite players to keep them in shape for the Moldovan premiership matches. FC Vaslui was founded in 2002 by Romanian businessman Adrian Porumboiu, a former FIFA referee, who is expected to be in Chisinau on Sunday. At present, FC Vaslui rank seventh in the Romanian top division. This season FC Vaslui was close to producing a surprise in UEFA Cup when it almost eliminated their more experienced rivals Slavia Praha from the competition. Vaslui's squad includes experienced footballers who played for Steaua, Dinamo or Rapid (all three based in Bucharest) and Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine).
