Zimbru Chisinau defeated the champion of Albania KF Vlazznia 3-1 in the first leg of the first qualifying round of the UEFA Youth League, IPN reports.

Zimbru was leading by 3-0 after the goals scored by Stana (23rd minute), Dontu (77th) and Yurashko (80th). The final score was set by Pusi in the 85th minute from a penalty kick.

“I thank my team for their play. If we play the second leg in the same way, we will manage to qualify for the next round,” Zimbru U-19 coach Valeriu Andronic told a news conference.

The second leg between Vlazznia and Zimbru is played in Albania on October 18.
