FC Zimbru lost the match played at home against FC Costuleni on September 14 by 1-2. After seven stages played, Zimbru ranks seventh with eight points, while FC Costuleni has by one point fewer, IPN reports.
Costuleni opened the score in the 15th minute through former Zimbru striker Veaceslav Sofroni. Anatol Cheptine tied in the 36th minute, but the guests scored again 15 minutes before the end, through Ivan Carandashov.
“We made inexcusable mistakes and Costuleni punished us. We had many occasions for scoring. I wished the players to never have such games in their carrier,” Zimbru coach Oleg Kubarev told a news conference.
“It’s a great victory for us. I have a good team, but we must prove this in the next stages too,” said the coach of FC Costuleni Laurentiu Tudor.
The other matches of the seventh stage ended as follows: Dinamo-Auto - Sheriff 1-2, Zaria - Milsami 1-3, Academia - Dacia 0-1, and Veris - Saxan 0-0. Dacia leads with 17 points, having by four points more than FC Tiraspol and Saxan.
